Out of memory error

Postby Waterkeyn » Mon Dec 07, 2015 11:32 am

Hello,
I saw this topic has already been posted, but there is no useful answer on it. It want here to give more precise informations:

I request a backup of some millions files. Those files are on a NAS and occupy about 4.5TB, the target is a LTO6 tape. The machine where Uranium is running is a Windows Server 2008 R2 (so 64-bit) with 32 GB memory and 200GB free on C:, 9TB on D:
After 4 hours 22 min the backup stops and the top of the journal says:
ATTENZIONE: Errore non gestito nella procedura di backup: Out of memory (this is not translated in french which is the normal message langage...)

I want to know if there is a solution for that.
Thank you for your help!

Sorry I did not notice earlier: The version of Uranium I use is 32-bit, it manages only up to 4GB. As there are around 700B allocated per file, the file number limit is about 5.7 millions... I hope Nanosystems has a 64-bit version!

Hello,

sadly there's no 64-bit Uranium Backup.

We suggest to not use the tape backup mode, take advantage of the LTFS functionalities and save the data on the tape with a simple files and folders backup.

Best regards
