Backup linux samba always full backup.

Postby akong » Thu Jan 14, 2016 9:56 am

I backup to tape.
One tape is full backup and other tape is differential backup.
First,I put full backup tape to backup it.It's create file list and show need backup 500GB.
I wait backup to finish.
Then I eject full backup tape and insert differential backup tape and tape option to differential backup.
I click run backup. But I found create file list is show 500GB.
The backup source is linux samba.
Why backup always full backup when source is linux samba?

the differential backup isn't working because it relies on the archive attributes of the NTFS filesystem.

On Linux the most adopted file systems are EXT3 and EXT4 and they doesn't support the archive attributes.
